Sea Bags Sails into Las Vegas

August 31, 2010 5:00:00 AM EDT

Most of the time when we spot a Sea Bag it’s typically near the ocean. So when we heard about our recent mention in Vegas Magazine we were super excited, but it gets better. We were included in a Best of Vegas article!

The article highlights the “Best of Sin City” from rock star jewelry to spas to restaurants. According to Vegas Magazine, the “Best Eco Fashion” can be found at Oya Eco-Couture and Sea Bags is amongst other great green companies such as Loomstate and EcoSkin.

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas? Not when it comes to Sea Bags.

Sail Away with Sea Bags

August 24, 2010 4:00:00 AM EDT

For some of us, this is the last week of summer already. Wow did it go by quickly! But we had a great one thanks to all of you. So what are you going to use for your last beach hurrah? We like Natty Style’s advice: “Sail away with Sea Bags.

We love the way she continues, “You’ll need the usual: a barely there sundress, your fave espadrilles – worn to shreds from a summer of fun, and a bikini or two. But you’ll also need something in which to tote these weekend essentials, PLUS a bag that’ll work for dragging goodies onto the beach itself.” Which, of course, is where Sea Bags sails in.

Thanks Natty Style for including us!

On the Beach with Sea Bags

August 12, 2010 6:00:00 AM EDT

How many times do you read the magazines that are strategically tucked in the airplane seat in front of you? Well if you are flying United Airlines over the next month, definitely pick up the August issue of Hemispheres! You’ll catch our Anchor Tote amongst other cool companies. We are especially impressed with the beach toy set from Green Toys, which are made from recycled milk jugs.

We’ve seen Sea Bags used on the beach for carrying towels, books, suntan lotion and snacks, but they also make for a great bag to carry the kids’ toys. The sturdy rope handle allows you (or them if you’re lucky) to carry a ton of toys and perhaps the best part is that you can wash the tote when you get home and hang it to dry. It’ll be ready when you are to hit the beach again!

Summer Fun at the Sea Bags Workshop

August 2, 2010 7:51:47 PM EDT

We love to do fun things at our workshop on the wharf and recently Sea Bags hosted a booksigning for Linda Greenlaw. It was fun to move the machines back and have a crowd in here. We had a cast of characters that was anything but a normal booksigning. Linda had 2 marriage proposals, signed a baseball, and even received a hand-made pirate doll.

We also met a family that came from California just to see where Sea Bags are made. Food & Wine recently called our shop a “museum” for our designs and the crowd that evening was able to see it up close and personal. We love that and hope people will find their way down our wharf for an event or even just to say hi.

Don’t forget you can buy Linda’s new book, “SeaWorthy,” and our new Sword Tote for a special price $150 through our website.

The picture above is of Linda with Sonia and Alicia. Alicia is sporting the Stephanie Harmon for Sea Bags dress out of recycled sails.
