Recently I've been avoiding my closet because every time I look at it am filled with frustration and boredom. Undeniably I am in a "FASHION RUT".  This is pretty common at least for me, and this time of year.  Its been a long winter and I've grown tired of my clothes.  I think most everyone can relate to this feeling.  Every single item in your wardrobe seems unappealing and everything you put together or try on just doesn't seem right.  Looking at the pile of clothing that has accumulated on your bed, you think in complete self pity, "I have nothing to wear!"

So what is the best way to break free from your rut?  The best way to breath new life into a wardrobe gone stale is to switch up your accessories.  Tired of yours? Pick up a few new accessories to play with.  Scarves, necklaces, bracelets, belts, even a cute vintage blazer are all my favorite accessories/outfit rejuvenators.  Any of these items can instantly and easily add freshness to an ordinary pant and top.

Your un-rutting vehicle should be versatile enough to work with several of your already existing outfits.  So choose wisely. Try the new accessory with a few outfits that  you frequently wear.  Also try wearing the accessory itself in a couple of different ways if possible.

To put an end to my rut, I walked into a local store I instantly fell in love with a beautiful one-of-a-kind scarf.  I tried it on in several different ways and knew it was something I could wear both now and going into summer.  Often, it is just the addition of one inspiring piece that can fix your fashion RUT-ROW!
